Pre Race Rituals

I decided this morning to go shopping for a few last minute GREEN items since I will be doing my 3rd 1/2 marathon on St. Patricks Day! I might have gotten slightly carried away. The thing is I live in England and grey skies are more common than blue and sun filled skies. Yellow is one, well is my absolute favorite color, and so I decided I've just about had enough of this depressing grey rainy mess! Therefore, I've chosen to create my own sunshine for tomorrows race and I plan to share with all my running friends! This is soooooooooooo out of the ordinary for me that I believe when my family/friends back home see photos they are going to be like, "Seriously, that cannot be Tonya!" But you know what? I think that's great. I've been telling people for a while that I'm slowly coming out of my shell...they just have no idea how much.

I was bored while soaking in the tub, so I researched Pre Race Rituals on my phone...there are some really strange things people do before races and some that seemed like pretty good ideas. Since I didn't have any rituals yet, I decided I should start a few:

1. ACV soak (I love the fact we have a jacuzzi - I will lost without it when we move).
2. Sugar Scrub Massage provided by my amazing daughter.
3. Spaghetti, Garlic Bread, Broccoli & homemade Gatorade.
4. Pack my bag, lay my clothes out.
5. Make sure all electronics are charged.
6. Have a nice warm cup of tea - suggested by Ashlynn.
7. Get plenty of sleep.

Post Race: Somebody give me a peanut butter cup! :)

Do you have any thing special you do before/after your races?

Tomorrows weather forest is calling for: grey, cloudy and rainy - I've a feeling its gonna be a COLD run. So I'm praying for little rain vs heavy rain. I'm also praying my attempt at creating my own sunshine & remaining positive will help. Also, praying my husband stays warm as he tags along to take pictures for us. Lastly, I'm praying for all of us runners to have strong knees, endurance and set new personal records. I'm wearing green for luck...but I've also got my yellow shoe laces too and some great people to run with! :)

I know a lot of people are running different races tomorrow all over the world, so Good Luck to all!!! May you succeed at your goals and God Bless!
