A Handstand Push-Up

Never be afraid to try something new, you might just learn that you can in fact do it. At CrossFit Stags and Does yesterday the WOD included Handstand Push-ups. I had no idea if I could do one. I had never tried it. I was hoping that the modification would include something Handstand related. I cannot yet do a Handstand in the middle of the room, but I can hold one for 30 seconds with just the heels of my feet on the wall (possibly a little bit longer). Thankfully, the modification was a 30 second hold.

Later over a cup of coffee, my friend Jessica & I were discussing the Handstand Push-up and she informed me that she thought I could do one. I wasn't as sure of it as she seemed to be. She told me to put a pillow on the floor at home & just try it.

You know that saying, "Curiosity killed the cat?" Yep, I tried it & then because I realized that YES, I could do at least ONE, I made my daughter video it. A girl has gotta have proof! I was so impressed I text my husband and his response was, "Seriously? Too Cool." I then proceed to tell him that I could only do 1 but I plan to own these babies one of these days and he simply said, "Keep rockin' it."

...and so that's exactly what I intend to do. Practice, practice, practice. Maybe the next time 8 Hand-stand Push-ups are listed I will be able to do them.
