"Hello Beautiful!"
Now that we got that taken care of...
It's been awhile since I last 'truly' blogged & with the new design up it's high time I figure out where I left off at and get back at it. Otherwise this pretty little design is just gonna go to waste and who will tell you how BEAUTIFUL you are?! :)
So what have I been up to? A lot! I'm not sure where I left off last, but we're going to do a quick update from June til now and then I'll post a few more in-depth posts on certain events later. This is just a quick overview or preview - which ever you like best. :)
June - Warrior Dash got canceled for no apparent reason - since one was not given. Thankfully they refunded the money.
July - My best friend Jenny came to visit for 10-days and we had the time of our lives. I've tons of pictures to show you!!! My husband & I, along with several members for the RAF workout group participated in the Spartan Challenge! The challenge that I secretly signed my husband up for back in December 2011 while he was still deployed and had no idea! Of course I signed myself up as well and it was my driving force during my training. I had to be ready to take on the Spartan. I had to know I was strong enough to do this and let me tell you what crossing that finish line was awesome! Ice pit with electricity - not so awesome...more about that later. :)
August - My husband and I celebrated 13 years of marriage!!! CRAZY! Love that man! I don't remember doing an event in August, but there was a lot of swimming, cycling, and a little running going on.
September - Sept. 1st. - 1 year since the scale said 160 and I decided to change my life. Train, train, train - oh boy Sprint Triathlon, are you sure you are ready for this! Uh...no, but I'm doing it anyway! Did it, rocked it and plan to do another one some time. I've a lot I want to tell you about that experience, so maybe tomorrow I'll write about it first and work my way backwards. :) haha I'll tell you right now, that Tri took more guts than the Spartan.
October - Oh yeah...not there yet uh? I know, but I am training. What for? Run to the Beat 1/2 marathon in London! This will be my 2nd 1/2 and I've some big goals for myself...
November - My running partner Sam wants to do this 8-mile Mud run - the crazy thing is, I'll probably agree to this insanity and freeze 1/2 to death. November will also be 1 year of HIIT and 1 year of working with Herman (my personal trainer).
December - Well, the cat is out the bag - I'm currently working on getting my Group X & Personal Training certifications and in December I'll go just a bit further and take the Crossfit Level 1 certification in London!
I'm a busy little woman uh? I know...which is why the rest of this post might get a little mushy. Earlier today, I was thinking about my husband. HEY! - I warned you, mushiness ahead. Over the last few months it seems my husband has been on a "Spoil Tonya" spree. I keep waiting for him to tell me he's deploying somewhere...yet, he never does the 'spoil and leave' thing - he usually just spoils me anyway. So I'm not sure the cause of the increase spoilage or what I did to deserve it, but I'm not complaining! Except, he didn't agree to the sexy black 2-door wrangler jeep or the Burgundy mustang...hahaha - No, seriously...he has done a LOT of spoiling!!! He always has but it seems I've gotten a rather large dose recently.
So first I must say I LOVE this man! If you didn't already know that then there is something wrong with your head.
Second, THANK YOU!!! I know, I'm pretty darn lucky and I thank God every day for working some pretty big miracles in our lives and blessing me with the most amazing and perfect man.
Let me tell you just a few things this amazing man has done for me:
1. My computer died & he bought me a new one...I get to keep writing!
2. Shopping spree with an image consultant in London!
3. Jenny's visit to England & all that included.
4. Cleans my kitchen...a LOT!
5. Trys to be on board with cleaner eating.
6. Follows me & my crazy fitness pals around the country to take our pictures at different events we get involved with...even though every time I do one it scares him.
7. Let's me sleep in from time to time, especially when I need to recover from an event or extreme training day.
8. Is interested in my 'fitness' talk and listens to me.
9. Bought me new workout clothes and shoes - bright yellow! He thinks I'm sexy. Oh, and a new coat! First new coat since we were stationed in Utah...that was like 10 years ago. :)
10. Got me an iPhone...he got one too!
11. Cheers me on at the different events.
12. Tells me he's proud of me.
13. Doesn't complain about my training schedule & loves me even when I don't deserve it.
You see, you just can't go wrong with a man like that! And yes, Mom, I know I'm very spoiled. I'm so glad & thankful I have him in my life. It would not be the same doing these events without him there somewhere taking pictures or hollerin', "Come on Baby!" Knowing he's proud of me, that he watched me tackle another thing and show that I'm capable of finishing it - does amazing things to my heart.
So today's advice, spread the love. If you got someone special out there, let them know it...some way, some how. I'm not the most affection person - so I have to remember this. And lastly, remember God created YOU for more, so dig deep and rise up.
